MEGHDAD ASADI LARI, Lead Animator

Meghdad is an award-winning animator and director.  After graduating from Shiraz University in 2008, Meghdad came to Rochester to study computer animation.  Graduating from RIT with his MFA in Film & Animation, Meghdad earned the faculty award for his senior thesis project Simorgh.  He has been a semifinalist for the Student Academy Awards twice, received honors for Student of The Year from the Adobe sponsored CG awards, and his films have been in over 40 film festivals to date.

 

MALCOLM SPAULL, Founder

Malcolm Spaull is an award-winning filmmaker whose work has been seen on HBO, Showtime, the Learning Channel and other regional and national cable networks. After earning his master's degree at Rochester Institute of Technology and winning a student Academy Award, Spaull began teaching at RIT in 1980 and currently serves as the Chair of The School of Film and Animation, one of the most competitive and selective programs in the country.

He continues to direct and produce educational and commercial videos for national and local organizations and in 2013, produced the PBS documentary, THE INTREPID: Discovering Lincoln's Balloon Corps.
